Unless you're talking stick vac to upright, I can't imagine why a shark vac would work different than a Dyson when they're essentially the same thing

Maintenance of the vacuums plays a big role in performance.
I've owned both Dysons and sharks. Sharks win due to the lower price.

I love my Shark. It's light enough that my wife will use it.
